Coparison of Perspections Intensive care Unit Health Care Providers and Parents of Hospitalized Child for Family Centered Care

Objective: The aim of this study was to compare of views for Family-Centered Care (FCC) of Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) health care providers and the parents of hospitalized children Method: The type of research conducted is descriptive and cross_sectional; was carried out with the participation of 34 nurses and 50 doctors who working at PICU, 192 parents including 137 mothers and 55 fathers of hospitalized children at PICU. Fort he evaluation of the data obtained from interview form prepared by the researcher for parents and the health care providers, Percentage and Averange Calculations, One-Way Analysis of Variance, for further analysis Shaffe Test and Bonferroni-Correction significance test of difference between the two averange were used. Results: The difference between the total averange scores of the form by taken from doctors, nurses and parents intended for FCC were found to be statistically significant at the advenced level (p<0.01). When the FCC’s interview form of the sub dimensions is examined individually; the difference between the total averange scores by taken from doctors, nurses and parents intended for Stabilitiy and Continutity of the Family, Parent and Team Collaboration, The individuality of the familes, İnformation Sharing with Family, Sharing of information and Experience between families, Providing emotional support fort he family, the sub-dimensions on the desing of health policies were found to be statistically significant at the advanced level (p<0.01). The difference between the total averange scorses by taken from doctors, nurses and parents intended fort he sub-dimensions on Family and Children’s Development needs were not found to be statistically significant at the advanced level (p<0.01). Conclusion: It was found that parents have more positive views than health workers intented for FCC. It was found there were no differences between the doctors and nurses views intented for FCC. It is recommended that more space be given to FCC in undergraduate education and in-service training program for increase positive perpections intented fort he FCC of health providers.
