Özet

Bedenimiz içinde yaşayan milyonlarca mikroorganizmaya ev sahipliği yapmaktadır. Mikrobiyata, insan vücudunda yaşayan mikroorganizmaların tamamını ifade etmektedir. Doğumdan sonraki ilk ayda yenidoğanın bağırsaklarında anne sütünden ve annenin cilt florasından gelen bakteriler baskındır. Mikrobiyal kolonizasyon fetüste başlamakla birlikte bebeğin bağırsak mikrobiyatası doğumdan sonra şekillenmektedir. Yenidoğan döneminden erken bebekliğe kadar bağırsak mikrobiyotasının gelişimini etkileyen faktörler arasında annenin vajinal ve bağırsak mikrobiyotası, doğum şekli, antibiyotik kullanımı, beslenme tipi, gebelik yaşı, antibakteriyel ajan kullanımı ve kültürel faklılıklar yer almaktadır. Bunlardan yenidoğanın mikrobiyatası üzerinde en etkili olanı doğum şekli ve beslenme şeklidir. Yenidoğan mikrobiyatasının sağlığı nasıl etkilediğine dair artan kanıtlar göz önüne alındığında pediatri hemşirelerinin mikrobiyata hakkında temel bir bilgi birikimine sahip olmaları çok önemlidir. Yapılan çalışmalarla elde edilen kanıtlar sağlığı geliştirmek ve hastalıkları tedavi etmek için daha etkili müdahalelerin nasıl fayda sağlayacağını göstermektedir. Pediatri hemşireleri araştırmalara katkıda bulunabilmeli ve güncel kanıtları bakımlarına dahil edebilmelidirler. Bu makalede yenidoğan döneminde sağlıklı mikrobiyatanın gelişimi ve sağlıklı mikrobiyata gelişiminde pediatri hemşirelerinin rolleri ele alınmıştır.
