Publication Policy

JICAH is a peer-reviewed and open-access journal published three times a year. The language of the journal is Turkish and English. No fee is charged for the articles sent to the journal and all accepted articles are published free of charge. Articles sent to the journal are evaluated within three months.

Articles submitted to the journal are subject to editorial review. Articles are evaluated in terms of spelling, scientific value, originality, plagiarism, and ethics in the preliminary examination made by the editor. The articles found suitable are reviewed by the secretariat in terms of article writing rules.

Field editors are assigned to manuscripts that complete this process. Field editors send the manuscripts to two independent reviewers who are experts in their fields. As a result of the evaluation of the article by the reviewers, positive, correction, or negative opinions are received. If one of the reviewers gives a positive opinion and the other a negative opinion, the article is re-evaluated by the editors and can be sent to a third reviewer for evaluation. In order for the manuscript to be accepted for publication, editors or at least two reviewers must give positive or corrected opinions on the manuscripts sent to the reviewers. The editors decide whether to publish the article as it is, to request a correction from the author, or not to publish it, in line with the reviewer's evaluations, and this decision is notified to the author(s). The author(s) are required to complete the topics requested for correction within the specified period (30 days) and send the article back to the journal. If the author(s) cannot complete the necessary corrections within the specified time, additional time may be given if requested. The completed or corrected article can be sent for review by the editors when deemed necessary. Manuscripts that are not found appropriate by the editors or that have not made the necessary referee and editorial corrections can be returned to the author(s) with the decision of the editors.

Due to the publication policy of the journal, articles written by the editors are not included in the journal. However, in the first three issues of the journal including the first year, the articles sent by the members of the editorial board and whose refereeing process has been completed can be accepted for publication in the journal, in order for the journal to continue its publication life and to avoid any problems in the publication of the relevant issue in its own period.

All transactions are carried out electronically. Accepted articles are queued for publication with the approval of the Editorial Board. In the final checks made during the layout of the articles planned to be published, if deemed necessary, spelling and grammatical errors can be corrected by the editorial board without touching the content of the article.
